"Over the past five years, I have suffered through debilitating menstrual cycles. At the onset of each cycle, I was bed
ridden due to my intense and extremely painful cramps. I tried to alleviate the pain through nutrition, herbs, and
movement. While other areas of my life were improved by these changes, my painful cycles persisted. I was introduced to
the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy as a midwifery student. After two sessions with Jackie and semi-
regular self care, I experienced my first PAINLESS cycle in years. I believe whole heartedly in the wisdom and healing
benefits of this work! Jackie is a very caring and compassionate therapist who truly has the healer's touch!"

WHAT IS IT?
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® are founded on an ancient Maya technique of ABDOMINAL MASSAGE. This technique is performed externally by gently guiding and supporting organs back into their optimal position, allowing for improved functioning for optimal health and wellness.
Arvigo Therapy is best known for addressing misalignment or congestion in the reproductive organs of both men and women, as well as many common digestive disorders. The techniques effectively alleviate tissue congestion and organ constriction to improve the vital flows of energy, blood, lymph and nerves in the abdomen. It addresses and can release emotional and energetic tension from the abdomen. This assists to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology while improving the body’s ability to SELF REPAIR AND BALANCE.
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy ® support and enhance health and wellness throughout the life cycle for women, men, and children.
Arvigo Therapy for a More Comfortable and Balanced Pregnancy
POSTPARTUM RECOVERY AND HEALING
Postpartum is a time of physical and emotional readjustments. A new mother’s body undergoes both physiological and structural changes to heal from the strains of labor
as well as to return to a pre-pregnant state. Her newborn requires 24/7 care, leaving little time to look after and care for herself.
Arvigo® Therapy during the postpartum is one of the most beneficial things a new mom can do for herself; it helps restore her to a balanced state, with uterine involution
occurring more quickly and efficiently. Uterine ligaments, stretched during pregnancy and birth, heal faster, helping the uterus return to its optimal position in a timely way.
A new mom can receive Arvigo® Therapy at 6 weeks postpartum and resume her pre-conception self-care massage regimen.
There are additional benefits of receiving this therapy durin the immediate and long-term postpartum periods:

BENEFITS FOR PREGNANCY, LABOR AND BIRTH
Arvigo® Therapy is very supportive of the physical changes experienced by women during pregnancy.
As the baby and uterus grow, additional strain is put on the uterine and pelvic floor muscles. With
regular massage, the uterus stays well-positioned, receives good blood supply, and grows strong and
Arvigo® Therapy also helps normalize pelvic alignment. The uterus can then guide itself towards a more
neutral position, helping to alleviate pregnancy pain and discomfort and allowing for optimal positioning
of the baby prior to onset of labor. Digestion and respiration during pregnancy are also improved.
Not only are women more comfortable during pregnancy when receiving Arvigo® Therapy, Arvigo®
practitioners around the world have repeatedly found that their clients experience significantly shorter
and easier labors. Over the years, midwifery-based practices that have integrated Arvigo® Therapy into
their care have reported positive differences in birth outcomes as evidenced by more efficient
contractions and shorter labor duration.
Arvigo® Therapy sessions can begin at 20 weeks gestation. It is advisable to start at this time, as this
will offer you maximum time to experience the work and its benefits. Six-nine prenatal sessions are
recommended, as well as a follow-up postpartum session at 6 weeks.
